CHILDREN OF BODOM, who are on tour with TRIVIUM and AMON AMARTH this Fall from November 9th - December 14th, have made the following chart impressions:
Billboard Top 200 - # 195 Billboard New Artist - # 6 Billboard Hard Music - # 24 (3rd highest debut)
Top Scanned Markets:
Boston #77 San Diego #86 Providence #89 Albany #52 Tuscon #99 Springfield #82
Kind of cool.

I went to a show on that tour, in Toronto. I was glad I went; I met Amon Amarth and Bodom. I didnt care much for Trivium; they shouldnt have even been on there, least of all in second spot, but it goes by album sales, and Trivium have the advantage being an american based band. That album (Are You Dead Yet?) is good. Not back to Bodom potential off Hatebreeder, or Follow the Reaper, but it sure beats Hate Crew Deathroll in my mind.

I don't mind Trivium, they need to lose the metalcore clean vocals though.

I respect Trivium's technical ability, but their music strikes me as completely uninspired. Just going through the motions in order to belt out some flashy guitars and drumming.

For sure. It's mostly the guitar work I like about them - aside from that they're not really anything particularly special.

Have you ever had the chance to check out any Capharnaum? Matt from Trivium does the vocals, but they also have Dan from Gorguts on the gee-tar and Mike from Monstrosity on the gut bucket. They're one of my favorite tech death bands since they're not afraid to show off some high end skill while still writing some really good material.

Hadn't heard of them 'til now, cheers for the recommendation.

Ugh. And what sucks is that Trivium is on tour with In Flames. Meaning I'll have to sit through another Trivium set. I swear every tour Matt Heafy's pants get tighter. Not to mention Zao. Fucking Ferret Music and their artists on REAL metal tours. Devil Driver and In Flames should do just fine though. And Skin Splitter, I'll tell you if Devil Drivers drums are triggered or not.

you dont like trivium but you like in flames? Their vocalist is no better Who said I disliked Trivium because of their vocals? I just think its gay for a band whos been around for maybe three years to be getting all these spots with influential Europeen bands. First Bodom, now In Flames. In Flames has been around for fifteen years, theyve taken their fair share of hits. But these pampered little princes from Florida release two records, and get better record sales than bands that have been around twice as long as they have. It may sound selfish, but why does Trivium have to play with the bands I want to see?

I believe that's the definition of selfish, haha. There is no sense if entitlement when it comes to music. Eventually the older bands will fade away, so if there aren't any newer bands to pick up where they left off, we'll be up shit's creek without any music.
Not to say that Trivium is the future, but you get the point. Newer bands want the In Flames fans to hear their shit. In Flames wants the newer bands fan base to check their shit out so they can sell a few more CD's. I love the shit, but it's a business.

Admitting you're wrong or just not replying at all isn't that hard.

Shit I'm just surprised someone actually recognized another point of view. That's a rarity on message boards. Kudos to you, my friend~

Ditto. I've only been into message boards for about six years now, but I've only seen it one other time.
