bands who cant come up with an original name. and i dont mean subtle, i mean bands naming themselves after bands who were around a year ago, or so... crazy.

Like...
-Bands that name themselves after a song title
-Any band with the prefix "dis" in their name in order to sound like Discharge(there's a million of them)
-Any band with a genre description in their name
-In most cases, band names with "The"
-Any band name that sounds like an AIM screen name(has a word followed by a number)

Ugh. I hear that. I'm sick of names that usually include the word "Corpse", "Gore", "Blood", and "Death". Come up with something original you fuckers. I'm surprised there is not a band out there named "Gore Corpse of Bloody Death".

Don't forget the word "Anal". If you look it up on Soulseek, you'll probably get about 15 different bands.

True. There are a bazillion bands that use the word "Anal", but only two of them are any good.
Usually if I find a new band that has "Anal" somewhere in their name, I don't even bother listening to them. Just another one/two-man project attempting to play sloppy, lo-fi grind.

No, I don't think so. I think it's going to go the other way eventually. People are going to start coming up with more and more ridiculous lengthy names to try and be original. I think some of them are funny(like the Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza), but it will eventually become stale formula and more obnoxious than humorous.
