I'm gonna agree with you about the beating someone down thing, but I'd take a negative message any day, just because I think it's funny. Positive messages can be empowering sometimes, but a lot of other times they go hand in hand with really cheesy music.

You can split the difference and write lyrics about how things postively suck. Or the affirmation of crapola.

I'll use Becoming the Archetype as an example... I'm really fucking nuts about that CD; hopefully it wasn't ignored too much because it was on Solid State. An excellent example of a positive message not interfering with some great metal. Never heard? Go to www.BecomingtheArchetype.com

You should care about politics as you watch (I assume most of you are american) your country fall apart. But then again, you may have voted for Hitler, or I mean George Bush.

Bush is bad. Anyone else who stood a chance wouldn't have been any better.
Had I been eligible to vote in that election, I would have voted libertarian. The candidate stood no chance of winning, but I'd rather know I voted for someone I respect than a guy with no real agenda who was some sort of "savior".
By the way, welcome to the board.

Look at our alternative to Bush this past election...John Kerry. Both major candidates were pretty awful, but man I'm thankful Kerry didn't get the job.
And seriously, when was the last time America had a president that wasn't complained about? I remember people pissing and moaning about Carter back in the day.
