Now this is a cool topic!
Somewhere In Time would definitely make for some decent RPG'in'. I'll also throw on...
Bolt Thrower - Realms Of Chaos/Warmaster (although they already are an RPG...) Suffocation - Effigy Of The Forgotten Ritual Carnage - Every Nerve Alive Devastation - Signs Of Life Manowar - Hail To England Wargasm - Why Play Around? Uncle Slam - When God Dies (just kidding)

yeah i left off bolt thrower for the obvious reasons... have you seen the cover to that wraith album that was on the games workshop roster? i think that is the coolest album cover of that style
i also left off the cirith ungol covers cause those are paintings of elric, and are actually included in the chaosium elric rpg book i have.

What cover are we talking about? I've only seen two Wraith covers before but didn't think they were anything special (much like the band). Also, there's probably more than one Wraith out there. The only one I've heard of is the black metal band from Atlanta. Are there any others?

i havent' heard the band but the one i'm talking about is from the late 80s or early 90s, i'm guessing british, and speed/death metal i guess.
i tried finding this album cover on time once before with no luck. if i remember i'll scan the art from an old white dwarf magazine tonight, it's super bad ass.

Cool. I dig that time frame for thrash & speed, too. I'll have to see if I can find any of their stuff anywhere.

Ah yes...I wasn't thinking about that. Lots of fire and smashing of shit always makes for a good game.

Why the hell does a publishing group that deals mainly with role playing and such need a record label at all?

To cover as many forms of media as possible. If the could sell a soundtrack to thier games means more money for them I think.
If I had the money, I would put up a restaurant has bands playing my kind of music who will be under my record label selling it on the same venue. Ill have a cool place to hang/eat/drink enjoy my kind of music while I make money out of it. And the bands would at least get some sort of exposre.
Aaaaaah now if only I have that money to make that dream come true

Upon winning the lottery, I always thought that would be a decent way to spend some cash. Like a coffee/smoke shop with a retro diner, and include another room with a nice stage at the front for bands.

So go apply for a grant if you want to open a musically inclined diner. The gubmint will help you build it as it's "cultural".

You can continue to go for the grants, and have the thing limp along for a few years, especially if there's a local business council or some shit like that. Get some local artists to show their crap, showcase the local bands, hit on the local underage chicks, shit like that.
We've been researching this, as a long term goal of ours is now to open a sandwich shop, though that would be a topic for another forum.
