Finlands own, CHILDREN OF BODOM, fast and furiously made the grade with the release of Are You Dead Yet? (Spinefarm 10/05), blasting out of the starting gates with a nearly totally sold out US tour in November-December with openers Trivium and Amon Amarth. Now, in 2006 Hot Topic Presents: CHILDREN OF BODOMs Spring US Tour with main support split between God Forbid and Chimaira; also on the bill- rotating in different cities are Bullet For My Valentine and If Hope Dies!

If last year was an indication of what is ahead for the band, hold on tight. COB debuted at .. 6 on Billboards New Artist Chart, held the top position on the CMJ Loud Rock Chart for six weeks and headlined a nearly sold out US tour with instore appearances nationwide dragging the hate crew out in droves to meet the band and grab an autograph. Heck one crazy fan even asked Alexi to punch him in the face. Alexi asked, are you sure? The fan was in awe and said YES! Alexi obliged.

I saw them in November and plan on seeing them again.

Its just weird the contrast in music styls between them and BFMV.

Its like the time Goldfinger opened for Slayer, or when From First to Last opened for Bad Religion.

I dont know. I think Slayer used it as a ploy to the get the audience, really, reaaally, fucking angry.
I suppose it worked. Who would want to go to a Slayer show to sit through forty five minutes of Goldfinger?

I wouldn't mind seeing CoB live, but no way would I pay good money to sit through shit acts like God Forbid and Chimaira. Actually, I've seen God Forbid live already. Best thing they did was a Sepultura cover of Refuse/Resist...which wasn't that good of a song in the first place.

COB's a good live act. I used to think they sucked live because I saw their DVD, and it looked like everyone was pretty out of it. But, Alexi can still shred like a sonofabitch.

I've never seen any reason to hate COB. I used to have their first 2 albums on my old iPod and I thought they kicked ass. I've never bothered with their newer stuff though.

Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper are debatable on which is the best album of theirs.

I'd probably get bored of Chimaira quickly.. which, again, is only my opinion.

Chimaira's last CD is very straightforward metal. I like it better than their previous efforts. If you only heard their first two, find a track from the last one. If you already have, then, yeah, you probably would get bored!

No. I have Chimaira, and none of the others. Alot of it I skip through.
I think I only liked Comatose and Left For Dead.
