Their starting line-up is probably going to look like this:
1. Martinez 2. Schilling 3. Lowe 4. Wakefield 5. Kim
Assuming Lowe gets his shit together, Wakefield pitches in humidity, and Kim doesn't get the boot, that's probably the most fearsome starting line-up in all of baseball.
If the Sox can somehow get rid of Ramirez and bring A-Rod to the team, ditching Walker and putting Garciapara at second base (hopefully cutting down on his errors), the Sox will probably end up first in their division.
EDIT: I forgot about one of the best parts about the Schilling trade. Addition through subtraction. We got rid of Brandon Lyon and Casey Fossum. Now, Fossum is an okay pitcher, but the fucking guy is 29 and knows 2 different pitches: fastball & curveball. He has two other pitches he's okay at, a change-up and a slurveball, but overall the guy will start the end of his career early in AAA if he keeps playing for Boston. Lyon on the other hand just plain sucks.

Personally, I am glad he went to the Sox and NOT the Phils! Last thing we needed was that cancer back in the locker room. I would have boycotted the Phils if they swung a deal for him!

Uh oh. Seeing as we also picked up Francona as our head coach...what kind of problems did this guy bring about?

Uh oh. Seeing as we also picked up Francona as our head coach...what kind of problems did this guy bring about? Beware of Schilling....and with Francona (his buddy) running the team, Schill will be able to get away with the same shit he pulled in Philly. He Politics too much. Whiney baby. This fuck was HATED by a great majority of his teammates here in Philly. When they pulled him out of games during the post season, this fag would sit in the dugout with a towel over his head because he couldn't bare to watch (or support the guys who took over for him) what happened in the game once he got taken out. Schilling will be making the calls my friend, not Francona!

Damn. This sucks. The only time I used to pay attention to the Phillys was when they had their AA team up in Maine back in the late 80's. Apparently I should have been paying closer attention.
What sucks is the Red Sox GM (Theo Epstein) said he wants to clear all the cancer out of the clubhouse. That's why we got rid of people like Cliff Floyd and Carl Everett. Great players, but not very likeable teammates.
We still have a couple primadonna's in the form of Pedro Martinez and Manny Rameriez, but by bringing in Grady Little they basically wanted to have a bench coach running the team to keep these guys in check. Now that the Red Sox have already made it well known that Manny is not welcome here anymore, and the first deal we can get for this guy we'll take, I figured that would be just another step to bringing this team together.
After all, the only reason why the Sox did so well last season wasn't because they had an All-Star team. It was because for the first time in decades they were actually playing as a team.
So now I doubt Schilling's presense. Hopefully since we have a fairly strong bullpen (Timlin, Saurbeck, Williamson, Arrojo, Embree) this guy will be a little more of a team player. Lord knows Boston fans will come down on this guy hard if he starts pulling any of that shit.
