I just heard on SportingNews Radio that Dan Reeves was fired about 10 minutes ago. That sucks for him. Vick comes back from injury, rallies his team, then Reeves gets the boot.
Canning a couch late in the season is bullshit. I don't care if you're out of the playoffs picture or not, it's not fair to the players, the fans, or the team to just throw everything into turmoil.

I could see doing it as a way to spark your team into maybe making a run, but to do it after you just won a game when your best player returned from injury?
Poor timing! Oh well, I am sure Reeves will show up somewhere else (assuming his ticker can handle the canning).
I think they were talking about something like 6-8 teams making coaching changes this year....WOW! Let's see, my picks would be:
San Diego, Oakland, N.Y. Giants, Pittsburgh, Miami (if they don't make the playoffs for sure and if they get bounced early), Atlanta (figured Reeves would be in trouble, didn't expect it to happen now though), and for good measures I am going to toss in Seattle (again, if they dont make the playoffs...hmmm, wonder if Green Bay would tank their coach and bring back...naaaaah)
My off the wall picks - Washington (the owner is a physco), Minnesota (if they tank it after the start they had).

Is Deion Sanders going to take over at Atlanta?

Next year they will look for another head coach.

What pisses me off about the firing of Reeves is the fact that this guy took a shitty team and brought them to a Super Bowl! He didn't do it with a good team like Miami or Green Bay...he did it with ATLANTA! He's dedicated a large chunk of his career to this team, and they just dump him off like garbage.
I heard there was going to be some serious coaching changes as well. Here are my picks in order of priority who I think will be shown the door:
Miami - Dave Wanstadt - The only way this guy could keep his job is if he won the Super Bowl. Even then I don't know. Miami is a highly talented team, but Dave is doing a terrible job.
Oakland - Bill Callihan - You can't blame him so much as his decrepit team, but Oakland fans are without a doubt the most hardcore non-bandwagon-jumping fans in football. They want results every year, or they want somebody's head on a pole. If Bill can leave with both testicles, he'll be in good shape.
San Diego - Marty Schottenhiemer - The guy is a legend. I don't know why he would take on a team like the Chargers. Neither do the Chargers. I think they're going to make him their scapegoat. Why don't they call Mike Ditka and see what he's up to?
Cleveland - Butch Davis - Another coach I like, but then again I always find myself routing for the Browns. Every year they prove themselves to be a clusterfuck of injuries and disorganization...and I think they're going to crack down hard and bring in some militant motherfucker to shine this team up a bit.
Washington - Steve Spurrier - The guy needs to stick to coaching college. I was hoping for the best, especially since the Redskins are a very high payroll team, but it's obvious this just isn't going to work out.
Jacksonville - Del Rio (forget his first name) - I can't believe they got rid of Tom Coughlin for this schmoe.
Pittsburg - Bill Cower - I'll be honest with you...I like this guy. I just don't think he's doing a terribly good job this year, and unfortunately I have the feeling they're going to show this guy the door without giving him another chance.
NY Giants - Jim Fassel - A losing New York team! Call in the national guard!
Detroit - Steve Mariucci - Actually, I think Steve is a decent coach, however Detroit seems to be going through coaches like BuzzBomb goes through a buffet table.

This Reeves thing has been the buzz on SportingNews Radio all morning. They're saying that Reeves and Vick never got along, and since Vick is back and still doesn't like the guy, they fired him. That sounds like a very media driven comment, but it sure as hell wouldn't be the first time a team bent over backwards to please a quarterback. Maybe Keyshaun Johnson will be in a Falcon's jersey next year.

I was just kidding anyway. I don't have the slightest idea where Kayshaun will end up. I hope it's for a team I hate like Green Bay or Detroit.

You know, I could totally see that guy in Oakland. Depends who they bring in for a coach, though. Maybe if Al Grohl isn't busy...

Ouch. It's one thing to make it clear to your organization that you think they don't have the talent to do well...but to come out and say something like this publically?

Yeah, rumor going around is that the Pats will probably loose either Romeo or Charlie, if not both. We could probably do without Romeo since Belichick is a defensive genius, plus the Pats definitely have a slew of good defensive players...but it would kill me to see Charlie go.
It's no secret that the Pats offensively just don't have that many good people. I mean, their best wide receiver is...Troy Brown? Best running back is...Kevin Faulk (disputably)? Even Tom Brady has yet to impress me. He's a good QB, don't get me wrong, but he's certainly not as great as everybody makes him out to be. Stick a guy like Charlie on a team like Miami or Oakland, and he's going to set the world on fire.
I don't know who the Pats would be looking to pick up if we lost Weis. Great that Belichick only wants the best for his assistants, but sucks if we can't get anybody to fill their shoes.

Na na na na! Na na na na! Dick Jauron! Good bye!
Still tied 1-1, War. I don't know why I wasn't thinking of Chicago when I was thinking of coaches that were probably going to get canned.
EDIT: I just heard today that Dave Wanstadt was given a two year extension?!? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Two more years of the Dolphins being kept out of the playoffs. 10-6 isn't a bad record for a team to have, but when you have the talent that Miami does, you need to hit the playoffs each and every year. No excuses.
Two more years of misery for Miami fans. It's nice to know that I don't have to worry abou the Pats beating the Dolphins since the main team the Dolphins have to worry about beating is themselves.

I also heard the the Cards let their coach go and so have the Bills.
There was a rumor that if the Bills brough in someone new, then Bledsoe would get tossed

Still tied, 2-2.
Getting rid of Bledsoe is definitely the wrong move in Buffalo. They paid a lot of money for that guy, and regardless of what people say, I still say he's a damn good quarterback.
If the Bills think they can nix Bledsoe and bring in a reasonably priced QB that can get rid of the ball in less than 2 seconds, they're smoking crack. That offensive line is horrid.
Yes, Bledsoe has had his share of interceptions, sacks and fumbles...but put yourself in his shoes. Why play your hardest for a team that throws you to the wolves each and every game? He's taken his team to the Super Bowl. He's a proven fan favorite and team leader. He knows how to play the game.
Put him on a team like Cincinatti, and he's going to post career numbers.
