Anyone see this? Patriots' Ty Law arrested in Miami Beach Monday, April 19, 2004 (04-19) 08:28 PDT MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- New England Patriots cornerback Ty Law was arrested after he allegedly led police on a brief foot chase. Law was driving his 2004 Rolls-Royce early Saturday morning in the South Beach section of the city when an officer flagged him down for a lane violation, Miami Beach police said. The 30-year-old Pro Bowl player initially pulled over, but police said he sped off, prompting them to chase him about half a block until he stopped again. He then ran away from officers again but they caught up to him after a short chase. According to police, Law told the two officers "not to touch him because he is a professional athlete." Law was charged with failure to obey a police officer and resisting an officer, both misdemeanors. "He didn't want to go to jail and he didn't want the police to tell him what to do. And that was the problem," police spokesman Bobby Hernandez said Monday. "He decided that he's above the law and he's not and that's why he was arrested," Hernandez said. Law was taken to the Miami-Dade County Jail after his arrest and released early Saturday morning on $1,500 bond. When reached at his home by The Associated Press, Law declined comment and referred calls to his attorney. Patriots spokesman Stacey James said the team was "aware of the reports. We're going to work internally to gather more information." In December 2000, U.S. Customs officials found several Ecstasy pills in Law's bag after he was leaving Canada with two other players. Law said the drug belonged to his cousin, but paid a $700 administrative fine at the scene and was released. Last month, Law said he no longer wanted to play for the Patriots because of "irreconcilable differences" caused by a contract dispute. sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/04/19/sports1128EDT0266.DTL

I saw that unfortunately. I love the Patriots, but I fucking hate Ty Law. The guy has talent, but he's also a lazy, greedy, egomaniac. The cops would have been doing a great favor to football if they shot that motherfucker on the spot.

The Buffalo Patriots? That team is a dumping ground for overpaid players with nothing left to offer.
However, I will always be a fan of Drew Bledsoe. To this day I would take him over Tom Brady.

Ha! Yeah, although I don't understand why Pats fans hate Bledsoe. The guy left with nothing but class, nothing but good things to say about his ex-team, and nothing but good things to say about the fans. He loved it here in New England.
On top of that, when he was first drafted by the Pats in the early 90's, he gave the team new hope. One of the worst teams in the NFL actually had a good QB! People were showing up for games, Pats were making a little more money, etc. Bledsoe got the team into the playoffs a few times, and pulled off way more superstar plays than interceptions.
His main problems was this: He's completely immobile. Instead of blaming the line, everybody blamed the quarterback. The guy is a workhorse that plays through injury, loves his team, and although he's not the best QB by any stretch of the word he's a good example of a player that loves his team and loves football. I'd take one Drew Bledsoe over a whole squad of selfish assholes like Ty Law.
None the less, I'm very excited about Dillon coming to the Pats. I was getting a little worried as some of these teams in the off season are getting absolutely STACKED. The Pats were doing just the opposite and losing guys. Now that Charlie Weiss actually has a fucking running game to work with, the Pats are going to look like an entirely different team next year. Basically, think of the Chiefs but with consistant defense.

Bledsoe didn't win Super Bowls.
The Pats traded a first round pick to the Bengals. Not they have i thihnk seven picks in th3e first round.
The Chiefs fired the def. coordinator. So look for the defense to improve. as it has every year since vermille took over

Bledsoe didn't win Super Bowls. You're absolutely right, but he was key in the Pats success. Winning a Super Bowl is nice and all, but I would rather see a team year in and year out that puts out a good performance. They traded a second round draft pick, which is something they picked up last year from Miami (I think) in exchange for a third round draft pick. On top of that, this year's draft doesn't have any quality running backs with the exception of MAYBE Steven Jackson. If they want a running game...which they desperately needed...they were correct in trading a draft for it. I don't know how many picks the Bengals have at this point, but I'm willing to bet it's some astronomical amount. They won't be able to replace their running back, but they can easily find some WR's to compliment their awesome QB army and also pick up some quality defense. That's good news. The Chiefs started strong, but I think a lot of their early defensive success stemmed from the fact they were now a rediculously strong offensive team catching everybody off guard. Once the teams knew what they were up against, they made the Chief's defense look like paper dolls holding hands on the line. KC has some good defensive players if I remember correctly. Wesley and Barber come to mind.

I totally agree. But I think a lot of people are too shortsighted to see the big picture. All they see is super bowl. There can't be that much animosity(sp) towards bledsoe. IS he still with Buffalo. I remeber hearing that if the coach of Buffalo was let go, then Bledsoe was going

I don't know if he's being let go or not. I know there are a ton of good QB's available in the draft and Buffalo has a very high pick, but with a strict salary cap and Buffalo stepping up to the plate recently to sign some big names, it might make sense to let him go. They would probably have to chow some of that hefty contract, though.
That's too bad, really. Buffalo has sucked for a very long time now, and when Bledsoe went to the Bills the fans immediately accepted him. None the less, it would be great to see Bledsoe go to a team I actually like...like the Seahawks or Bucs.

I have to be honest with you. I HATE Dallas and I HATE Parcells...but if Bledsoe went to Dallas that would kick so much ass.
