British extreme metal pioneers BOLT THROWER have announced the return of original vocalist Karl Willetts as a full-time member.
Willetts rejoins the group as the replacement for Dave Ingram, who left the band in August due to long-standing "health and personal problems."
Commented Karl: "It's fantastic to be a part of the mighty BOLT THROWER again. It feels great to be back with the guys, I can't wait to get my teeth into the new songs and get back on the road again. I've got some unfinished business to tend to...!"
The now complete line-up of BOLT THROWER — Willetts, Gavin Ward, Barry Thomson, Jo Bench and Martin Kearns — will spend the next few weeks finishing off the new material before going into the studio to record their eighth album. The upcoming CD will be the follow up to 2001's "Honour, Valour, Pride", which was the only BOLT THROWER release to feature Ingram on vocals.
Sweet baby Jesus.

More news...
British extreme metal pioneers BOLT THROWER are "still putting the finishing touches" on the material for their new studio album, according to bassist Jo Bench. "Baz [a.k.a. Barry Thompson, guitar] keeps changing them, which doesn't help!" The band recently booked time at the rehearsal room "to run through the songs to make sure they're OK before we start work in the studio in the next few weeks," according to Bench. "We're still hoping for an October/November release" via Metal Blade Records.

I was about to say "Hasn't this been done before?" Then I see the date, November 20. Go figure.
I heard a Bolt Thrower song once. Can't remember what it sounded like though.

I heard a Bolt Thrower song once. Can't remember what it sounded like though. You need to check out their entire catalog from "In Battle There Is No Law" through "...For Victory". Pummeling death metal mixed with the most basic elements of grind, really crisp and throaty growls, just as heavy as it is tight. If there was ever a band that could effectively turn war into music, it's Bolt Thrower.
