touch & go - (early 80s stuff like negative approach, the fix, meatmen, necros up into the 90s with big black, jesus lizard, chrome reissues)
nuclear war now! - best metal lable around today. amazing packaging and crucial releases (toxic holocaust, cult of daath, sarcafago, witches hammer etc)
propaganda - essential original early 80s finnish hardcore (riistetyt, appendix, kohu 63, kaaos, etc)
xclaim - essential original early 80s boston hardcore (fu's, jerrys kids, ssd, dys)
load - providence based label that hosts many local acts (hydrogen terrors, vincebus eruptum, lightning bolt). also a ton of shit i couldn't give two fucks about

Depends on your tastes.
For me it has: Burnt By The Sun, Burst, Dysrhytmia, Exhumed, Dillinger Escape Plan, Nile, Mastodon, Uphill Battle, probably some more I can't think of right now...
They've also released stuff from Luddite Clone and Disrupt.
Therfore, I like them.

Yup. What he said. They're pretty mainstream which turns a few people away from some good bands, but they've also released stuff from Neurosis, Origin, Benumb, Gadget, Pig Destroyer, Cephelic Carnage, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, etc.
Regardless of record sales, those are good bands that deserve any success they get.

Hell, I forgot about Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Benumb. Those are both cool bands. The Converge split with ANb was on Relapse, even if it was some of their worst songs...
Pig Destroyer? I feel pretty on and off on them. That song I heard from their new album was ass.
Hey! I forgot Nasum too. They're pretty boring, but you know. It's still decent.
Would it also be murder to say I like some stuff on Metal Blade too? They've signed some good bands recently like Into The Moat and Psyopus. Also, I like Black Dahlia Murder.

Metal Blade is one of those labels that will sign one good band for every ten shit bands. I don't have anything against them, but in all honesty the majority of their catalog is destined for many return trips to the used bins at local record stores.
The funny thing about Pig Destroyer is the fact their first album was awful, second was brilliant, and third was terrible. Simply put: I wouldn't hesitate to catch them live, but I wouldn't have any interest in buying their merch.
Overall Nasum is (was) a good band. Nothing extraordinary, but a good gateway into modern grind. Inhale/Exhale and Human 2.0 is essential listening.

i probably dig more metal blade stuff than relapse...
i don't really get into much death/grind stuff which i assume is what a lot of those relapse bands are (i have only heard a few of them). death to blast beats.

if you've never read the writeups on the load records site, you should, they're great. i love this blurb regarding the landed 7" (whose cover incidentally features load label owner ben mcosker sucking his own dick):
"Rumour has that the vocalist caught himself on fire and played a whole show. Believe it. We don't have a weak-ass town of jazz-fusion players, we have freaks that know how to rip the asshole off life and glue it on their faces to give your mother a big smooch. Pucker up."
