see that at armageddon this weekend, didn't pick it up. i dig the waste but those other guys don't do much for me.

Being that this is one of the things I picked up over the weekend, I figured I'd give my thoughts after my initial listen. I'll do it by band. Hirax - I was actually able to focus a little more on the music with this song because the guy's voice sounded a little more coarse and not so much like opera. A pleasant surprise track. The Accused - I hadn't listened to this band in a while. The guy's voice sounds a little more annoying, but it's bound to do that over age. Sounded pretty similar to the last song. Toxic Narcotic - Seager Tennis left the band, so this song sounds more like something written before his time(which is good in my opinion). The chorus chant was annoying (Shoot shoot shoot shoot!) but it sounded more like something from We're All Doomed than the last couple releases. Municipal Waste - This is slower than your average song by these guys. Sounds almost more like power metal than the thrashy stuff on Waste 'Em All. Maybe the Hirax influence was there on this track? Voetsek - This is the only band on the comp I hadn't heard before buying this. The beginning was pretty slow, kind of like something you'd hear on G3 with a significantly lower amount of talent(of course) but then it picked up and got pretty speedy. Not bad at all. I'll definetely look more into this band. |
