I came across your site through a Google search of Machine Head and found two of the stupidest, most uninformed reviews I've seen to date of any album period. Your jackass reviewers that gave Machine Head's first two albums an F- have absolutely no credibility and should be kicked in the balls.
I'll bet they're feeling like morons now that Machine Head's new release, THE BLACKENING, is the best metal album produced in over a decade. 2004's THROUGH THE ASHES OF EMPIRES was astonishing and the new album even tops that. Thanks for letting idiots review albums on your site to show just how stupid people are in general when it comes to what real metal is all about.

It's all good bro. I don't have to show anyone anything. The truth is out there.

Yes, the truth that you can't handle the fact that people have different opinions than you on something you like and may not find it to be something they're into. I don't want any part in this debate because I'm never heard Machine Head and I don't ever want to because I'm sure I'd find them just as shitty as what most other people on this site listen to(yes, I used to be a reviewer, go look at some of the stuff I've written reviews for, I don't agree with all of it now but most of it isn't metal) so I'm just going to say that you're wasting your time by posting this thread and in all honesty I actually kind of feel sorry that you're dumb enough to think you're going to make a difference in the opinions of whoever wrote that review.
You won't be banned either, only pussies ban people from message boards for starting threads like this. This forum is just naturally inactive especially because pretty much the whole staff has moved on and Shevy's a lot busier than usual these days.

Well I can respect when other people don't like what I do. There's plenty that I don't like that maybe others do. I'm not trying to make a difference by telling the poor reviewers off. I just want people to realize that to not check an album or a group out because of what one guy says is shorting yourself from being able to make your own informed decision.
And there are better ways to go about writing a review for something that you don't like. Being a complete jackass is just in poor taste. No class at all.

I'm guessing if your complaint is that the reviewer was being a jackass then Horatio wrote it. It's just his style of writing. He's not very professional in his approach to writing or even to getting his opinions across about stuff but he knows his metal and I seriously doubt he's going to waste his time debating with you. Also, anyone who doesn't realize that you shouldn't check out an album/group based on what one person says has no business being on this site, or on the Internet at all really. This isn't fucking preschool, nobody should have to hold anyone's hand to get through opinions.

It was Horatio and Skin Splitter.
And I've seen plenty of bad reviews where the people responding say " oh, thanks, I won't bother with this now." Don't underestimate the idiocy of the internet world lol!

If I knew people would avoid Machine Head albums based solely on the reviews from this website, I would drop everything I'm currently doing and become a lot more active around here again.
That's cool that you dig it. I've only heard a few songs from it, and was completely unimpressed.
You're welcome.

The Blackening is mediocre, at best.
There are a few real good sections, most notably in Halo and the beginning 25 seconds of Beautiful Mourning, but thats pretty much the extent of it. Through The Ashes makes this album look fucking pathetic.

Machine Head haven't killed themselves yet? I would have long ago if I was making uninspired shit like they continue to do.

Maybe they're too uninspired to kill themselves. When they find the right time, they'll choose to die.

Ah yes, a thread where a blind fanfaggot complains about a review. Always good.
The Blackening would be a much better album if Machine Head had a better vocalist. Such shitty, shitty growling.
A Farewell to Arms and Halo are the only tracks that've grabbed me.

Alright that's it. fuck you MH1. Fuck you in the ass with a glazed ham. This is the all almighty Skin Splitter. and if you are good, you just might have the privilege of licking my balls. Now I want you to listen closely and listen well. fist off, I am, in fact, a Machine head fan. that's right shitbag, I like Machine head. However, The More Things Changed sucked the semen out of a dead hobo's ass. No Questions about it. and I actually liked Burn My Eyes. and Well shit. Through the Ashes of Empires was one of my favorite albums of that year if not in my realm of top 10 ever. So, for you to sit there in all your sunshine and tell me (with a nametag of MH1 no less ) to disagree with me that "The More Things Change" is their weakest album. Period. As for the Blackening. I give it a B+. it's good. But it's in no way "TTAUA" in any respect. In fact, I thought the Blackening was good but pretentious as fuck. and if you have a problem with that, you can contact toddhascrabs@yahoo.com and the next time anyone has a problem with my reviews, they can meet me at the Worcester Palladium with any questions. Or, post a bullshit comment at toddhascrabs@yahoo.com. That is all. Skin Splitter has Spoken

Hahahahaha Well I don't know about the blackening but I'm 100% in Horatio's court as far as Burn my Eyes is concerned. That album has to be the best cure for insomnia this side of half a bottle of bourbon and a handful of sleeping pills.

I actually picked up a used copy of Burn My Eyes 3 or 4 weeks ago just to see if it really was that bad, and it really was that bad.
Blood For Blood is the only song even worth listening to more than once.
