One of the dumbest things I've ever heard

One of my friends just got fired from his job at Stop and Shop because he had his hands in his pockets.

I can't make this stuff up.

I can't say he had much of a future working at Stop n Shop in the first place. Sounds like they did him a favor.

Yeah, but he still needs a job so he can pay his car insurance.

Pizza delivery. Kick ass job. For just driving around and listening to music, the pay is actually pretty good. I loved doing it.

I kind of want to get back on this topic for a second.

Stop and Shop was the second job he had. He's had four jobs and has been fired from three of them(and he was going to get fired from the remaining one anyway).

First he worked at Wendy's. Apparently he was really slow and nobody could stand him. He'd been working there for a couple months and then put in his notice because it killed his mind to work there(when I think the real problem for this kid is work in general). Then after putting in his notice, he tried to call out for a day and they just fired him right there. Apparently his coworkers got away with calling out all the time, so I think they were just using this as an excuse to fire him for his poor work ethic.

Then he had the Stop and Shop job. Why he got fired has been explained already, but he sucked ass there too. One of my other friends still works there, he recalls a day where this kid was sitting in the break room eating and the manager is all like "Hey, are you on break?" "*slow chip eating motion*...no." "Well then shouldn't you be working?" "*same slow chip eating motion*...yeah." And then he would only bring in like, 6 carts in a span of 20 minutes.

Next he worked at the restaurant where I still work. I didn't really pay much attention to his dishwashing(any time I worked with him I was busing tables so I didn't have much time really) but my boss was telling me this kid was the worst dishwasher he'd seen in the last 2-3 years. The guy who works there 7 days at week at times was loading into the machine on a three person night and told the other kid to unload because this kid was going too slow. He quit to go work at a convinience store nearby after three weeks, but my boss said if the kid hadn't quit, he was either going to fire him or give him a schedule that would make him quit(Sunday morning would have done the trick well...but now I have that shift...fuck).

Then he had the convinience store job. I don't know how well he worked there, but he didn't work there long. He requested a bunch of days off for the variety show and requested weekends off as a whole and the boss wasn't really happy with this. Then he called to make sure he had a certain day off and said he was sorry to the manager. He meant it in an "I'm sorry that I had to make you go through all this trouble" way but she took it as "I'm sorry, but I'm not working that day no matter what" and she fired him right there on the phone. I've heard this manager runs kind of an immature business based on my other friend that works there(the cigar smoking convertible dork) but god damn, he must have sucked ass at the CONVINIENCE STORE too.

He hasn't had a job since. I have to wonder how the fuck a kid like this will survive in the real world. His grades are hardly better than mine(and that's not saying much), he's going to the community college(where he'll probably slack off), and to top it off, this kid's not even on any kind of drugs like his brother is(who has worked more jobs than I probably ever will).

I just hope he gets motivated soon.

WTF that's almost how I work only a BIT better. I mean, I have never been fired for sucking, but when i worked at McDonald's they gave me shitty shifts until I got better. I started getting really good shifts right before I quite. Well left anyway and hauled ass to a different town without telling them haha. Left them screwed. But yeah i'm kinda slow myself and I slack off a lot.
