For some reason I've been really productive lately. Don't ask me why. Things I've done in the past week:
-Gone to the bank and gotten them to mail me an ATM card in my own name(still hasn't come yet, but it will) -Cleaned out my fridge/freezer in the garage, then bought some groceries -Picked up the main key for my car from the dealership(I was using the spare) -Actually cleaned my room...I cleared a whole shitload of old clothes/garbage off the floor. I threw out notebooks that spanned all through high school, tons of papers, lots of dried up dog shit(I don't always see it), a light bulb I dropped a couple years ago and just covered with old clothes...the floor was covered in carpet fresh and I vaccumed it. There's still some cleaning to do but right now it's actually looking pretty good. Areas of my room are seeing air for the first time since I moved into this house five years ago.
Wonder what's next...

Labor Day was a good day for me. Got up early, had breakfast, played with my kids for a little bit, and then the rest of the day went like this: 1. Washed the truck and car. 2. Played with the kids some more in the yard while Tammy made lunch. 3. Took a shower, and then headed off for Prescott Park in Portsmouth. It was much, much busier than we thought it would be, so we took some backroads by the ocean and through Newcastle and Rye to a place called Odiorne Point. 4. Odiorne Point is a pretty cool place as it used to be a military base by the ocean. They still have all the old rails for turrets and closed off bunkers in the hills. We walked around, Jake played on the massive playground they have there for about an hour, collected a ton of cool shells and sea glass, climbed the rocks with Jake looking for sea snails, etc. It's a cool place to be if you like the beach, but don't like the typical beach bullshit. Plus there's way more to there if you like exploring, mountain biking, climbing rocks & walls, etc. 5. Eventually packed up and headed back to Portsmouth where we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Their toasted Italian Subs rock. There wasn't a lot of people there, so our youngest, Kale, got to run around and hop on rides. 6. Went into Somersworth to some new store called The Dollar Tree. I usually DETEST these stores, but my wife likes them so I went in. This is the place I found all those Bottlecap candies, plus Pete Rose's book "My Prision Without Bars". They also had some nice Little League baseballs there brand new for a buck a peice, so we picked up a few of those (started breaking them in on Sunday afternoon). 7. Came home, got the kids ready for bed. Played a couple games of Memory with Jake and Tammy, and then some Tactics Ogre: Knights Of Lodis while Tammy watched CSI. Hit the hay, cranked through a couple chapters of Rose's book, and was asleep by 11pm. Slept like a baby.
Yesterday wasn't a bad day, although for a day so nice I didn't get to spend much of it outside. It basically went like this... 1. Got up, made coffee, put up Horatio's review of Dream Evil, and then hit all my typical websites. 2. Went downstairs and blasted through some ironing while listening to some Black Sabbath and Swordmaster. 3. Got ready for work, and even though I only put in a 9 hour day, I got a lot of stuff done. Playlist at work consisted of WEEI sports radio along with Akercocke - Rape Of The Bastard Nazarene and Circle Of Dead Children - Genocide Machine. 4. Came home. Put away roughly five loads of laundry, watered the garden, and then left to pick up the kids in Dover. 5. It's getting darker earlier now, so the ride from my house through Gonic and Dover was nice. Was in a bit of a GWAR mood, so listened to some of We Kill Everything. The drive back was also nice as I listened to the Red Sox play the Blue Jays in Toronto with Arroyo going toe to toe with Lily. 6. Made some kind of a meatball calzone thing, fired up some more Tactics Ogre, and skipped between the Sox/Jays game and the Eagles/Falcons game. Fell asleep before half-time.

i've been working on some new art for a toxic holocaust picture disc. mostly using brush & ink so far and i'm really digging how it's coming out. also, work goes quicker with the brush vs pen, so that is a big plus too. been putting it off way too long (mostly cause of all the time i've been spending on my car), so i'm happy i finally got off my ass.

what kind of brush are you using? but there's a trade off in the tactile aspect of it all, brush vs. pen

it's a windsor & newton #3 red sable. i totally agree with what you're saying, but you can't achieve the same variety of line weight with a pen that you can with a brush either. different strokes for different folks.
also, i'm going for a 60s/70s horror comics look, so the brush is mandatory.

most, def. personally i switch it up according to what i'm trying to create and i have no loyalty to one utensil over the other. lately i've been doing a lot of pen and ink filled in with watercolor

scoots, are you any good with spraypaint? if you feel like doing some large-scale art at all, feel free to come by buddy's and help us fill the new ramp with sick artwork. doesnt have to be spraypaint, of course, but we do have a bunch of it.

And going along with the "good times" theme, I'm gonna miss driving this thing: For the past 3 BEAUTIFUL days, I've been driving my mom's jeep since my audi is in the shop. I left the top down the entire time, even at night. I'll miss the experience, but not the gas mileage. It makes my audi look like an economy car.

The Jeep Wrangler (and all previous CJ's) are my number one favorite vehicle to drive. They're a bare bones no bullshit ride. You want a back seat? That's an option you have to pay for. You want air conditioning? That's an option. You want power windows? Too fucking bad, they don't make 'em with power windows. If you want to pay more for the optional full frame doors you can get a crank glass window...other than that you're stuck with plastic side windows which you can unzip or just take off completely.
Simple and fun. That's my type of vehicle. If I didn't have kids, I would definitely have a Wrangler.

I've had a GREAT time skating our ramp the last few nights. We just got it to the point where it's skate-able, and we've been thrashing it daily (and nightly). There's 2 big halogen lights mounted in the trees, and they light it up pretty damn good at night too. Here's 3rd Death in the middle of a night session, pre-practice. Hell yeah.

Friday: Sat on a street bench and tripped old people. A cop asked me what I was doing, so I pushed him in front of a bus and stole a hobo's bag of wine.
Saturday: I saw a mime entertaining a group of children by pretending he was in an invisible box. That's not entertainment. That's stupid. So I piledrove him into the concrete and took a little girl's ballon as she cried for her mommy.
Sunday: Some latino taxi driver wanted to pick a fight with me because I urinated through an open window in his cab. I rammed his face into a parking meter and reported him to the INS.
Overall a productive weekend.
