This picture is hilarious. The girl driving deserved to die for driving illegally. The mother is a psycho for adopting so many kids. Everyone wins.

Yeah, every time young kids die there's definitely a winning situation for somebody. Good call, dude.

So many people I know rave about that game. I really need to give it a shot.

Absolutely. Actually, here's a link for you: HoboWars Sign UpBasically, when I first started playing this game I thought it was okay. Only played it casually. However, the more time I spent playing it the more I realize just how complex the economy and social structure is. It's so addictively brilliant that I've been playing now for over a half a year and it hasn't lost any of its luster. I highly recommend it to somebody looking for a really difficult challenge.

I signed up. I attempted to battle people and most of my skirmishes amounted to nothing. I bought food and ate it. Some guy kicked my ass. I feel neutral.

I go by the name "Gobble Guts". And yeah, I wasn't all that impressed with it either when I first started. It was okay. Stick it out for a couple weeks and get to know the game. Here are some tips to help you out at the beginning...
1. There are two main types of players: Fighters and Beggars. Begging is actually pretty boring, and are mostly the path of people who just want to play the Cart Racing & Rat Fighting aspect of the game, stay social on the boards, and contribute huge amounts of cash to the game. Fighting is a way more fun path, and requires more strategy. Either way, right now you should have two major goals: a. Keep fighting until you hit level 25. Once you're at level 25, you can gain access to the University. That way you can get much better stat gains. b. Train your intelligence to 1,000. Intelligence is the only stat (other than begging, but that doesn't really count) which you can max. It's the most important stat to focus on in the beginning as it will allow you more money per can, better stats per fight, and better gains at school. It takes a while to do, it's not a lot of fun, but once you finish Intelligence training the game becomes way easier. My recommendation, should you decide to become a fighter, is to focus on Intel and Speed at the same time. 2. The game resets twice a day. 10am and 10pm our time with the Daylight Savings Time in effect. At reset, you are automatically healed, can eat five more times, can explore 200 more times, and when you get into racing will get another six tickets. Reset is the best time to be online as you can pick off the weak and gain some really easy experience. 3. Always eat KFC Meals and nothing else. Luckily you can find them while exploring for free, but don't hesitate to buy some if you don't find five (which you usually won't).
Send me a friend request, and I'll send you a chunk of change to get you started. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to run them by me. The majority of the people on the boards are complete assholes, so never go there for help. Not only will they refuse to help you, but if your question is newbish enough they'll camp you out and attack you whenever you heal. It sucks, but the game is total chaos.
If you end up liking the game after a few weeks, I'll get you into my gang. It's somewhat exclusive, but the people there are wicked helpful and they have a really nice armory.

I sent you my friend request. I haven't had much of a strategy so far I guess. I basically already went into the Wal-Mart and beat up the trolley boy and got a place to store my food and I've been looking for players the same level as me with dumb screen names(anything that looks ghetto or has the number 420 or some other sign of pissing me off in it) and beating the shit out of them until they go unconscious. I didn't even know there was a begging section of the game, that could come in handy I never seem to get much money from the guys I destroy. The thing about people beating the crap out of me and stealing my money is exactly why I haven't been telling people I started playing this game, I never know who on a message board has a Hobo Wars account and would start shit with me just to be a douchebag.
I know I haven't talked to you in a while Shevy, but at times like this you always manage to show me I can be a huge asshole to you and yet you still act nice to me. Sorry about botching my account on this board intentionally without saying anything, heh...
By the way, you know Michelle? I actually met her on last.fm and have been talking to her a lot lately. Small world.

You're too hard on yourself, man.
Yeah, I actually had her hitlisted for no other purpose than respect gains since she was never around at reset. Then I get an E-Mail one day from her which basically said, "Wow. A Blood Freak fan. Glad to see somebody around here actually likes good music". Then I noticed she was wearing a Phobia t-shirt and stopped the hits.
Anytime, dude. Try and stick it out to level 10, by the way. The game really starts to pick-up the pace the father you get into it.

I'm at level 3 right now, basically I just figured out why my respect was so far in the red so I was battling people with negative respect getting it back up. Having a weapon and armor kicks ass and I got a lot of my points boosted in primary school too. I like the explore the city part of the game. If I could find that much cash and cans lying around the city in 200 steps, I would go every day.

The reason behind respect is so you can eventually buy a ring. Depending on your respect, the ring will effect your stats. Negative respect gives you a speed/damage bonus, positive respect gives you a speed/defense bonus. Most people train in positive respect, which makes players with neg respect quick targets at reset.
As an example, I'm wearing a Gold Ring with Diamond, which when teamed with my respect level of 1,319,245, gives me an additional 300 points each in Defense and Speed.
And I always explore the city every reset. The cash and occasional KFC bonus is nice, but mostly do it to collect cans. With every level you gain, and with every additional 50 Intelligence points, the price of the cans goes up. For instance, right now I'm making $180/can at Level 66 with maxed Intel.
I usually sell 100 cans per explore and save the rest. If I need some quick cash down the road, I just cash in some cans. That's what I did to max my first rat, Goretits, who has easily earned it all back and then some through fighting. Currently, he's the 5th overall ranked Dual Ratio rat in the game, 18th in Overall wins. Rat fighting = money, money, money.

Hobowars is the shit. How're you doing on HW2, Shevster? Still going down the begging path?

Ugh. HW2 is sucking right now. Since it's all on one server it tends to lag hard, plus all I'm doing is remedial gang hits on inactive members while maxing Intel. My main rat, Mammal Sauce, is obliterating some ass, though. Doesn't have much life left, so I've adopted a Lab Rat named Trevor The Rat (as in Meet The Feebles) that I'm working on as a Concentration Hound. I've only ever raised Kangaroo and Shadow breeds, so we'll see how this works.
And yeah, I'm planning on continuing as a beggar. I don't think I could muster the time to control two fighters, and begging is a cakewalk. If I stick it out long enough, I'm going to try to max it and then continue on as a hybrid.
I see you're doing well in HW2, though. Are you playing that one more than HW1? Also, did you see that ALG got completely fucked by Zeroun a couple weeks ago? Bummer that RtL is no more AND ALG doesn't get his money.
