Not only does the psp have video, music, and internet capabilities on top of being able to play by far the most stunning handheld games available today, the hackers out there continuously find new ways to run homebrew programs on the machines as well. I now have a Genesis, SNES, and Lynx emulator on my psp, and loads of games. More emulators for more systems will be adapted to the v2.6 firmware, and released soon enough, even a GBA emulator! I'm stoked that I got this thing, and if anyone else is considering getting one, I would say sooner than later if you're interested in the homebrew. Sony is constantly trying to patch its firmware to get rid of any chance to run homebrew, although chances are it will be hacked in due time anyway. If you run out and buy GTA:LCS and a psp with ANY firmware right now, you can run homebrew the same day you bring it home. Check it out.

This has now gotten even better, with a new release of the "eloader". The "eloader" is the homebrew program that you initially run from GTA:LCS, through which you run the rest of the homebrew apps. With this new release, the program seems to run nearly flawlessly, first try, and runs more homebrew programs than before. The GBA emulator is now working for all firmwares of the PSP. If you are an "old school" game buff, and are interested in a portable, this is the way to go.
