I can safely say that this album was a flop, a mishap in metal. I as thoroughly disappointed with every song on this album with an exception of some riffs. The vocals just didn't get me in the thrashing mood because they always sound slightly of and proto-country at the time. The bass was just not there. The Lyrics were a disappointment with a few annoying ways he says the words. And finally my least favorite thing about this album is the god damn production. It's disgusting no matter how clean and clear it sounds. It lost it's raw energy by making the medium way to high and turning down the bass and turning the medium up on the vocals made this album sound just utterly disgusting. You can not compare this too Rust In Peace. You know why? Because And Justice For All just doesn't cut it as a decent thrash metal album nor do I think it's worth the money.
I gladly rate this album a 1/5

You are either only eight years old or mentally retarded. One or the other. " ....and justice for all " was, quite simply, so far ahead of anything else in metal at the time it's beyond comparison. The issues about the production have been done to death. Get over it. They clearly had Cliff in mind in practically erasing the bass from the mix but it's the material that counts. Every Metallica album has a slightly different sound in my opinion, which is testament to their extraordinary talent. Unlike every other band which makes the same album over and over again.
Lyrically, " ...justice " is not just their best album, but arguably the best in all of metal. Social justice, war, blacklisting, child abuse- all light years away from the usual metal bollocks. Along with the first three and " Death magnetic ", this is one of the absolute essential Metallica releases.
