I'm new on here, to talk about Metallica mainly, but is there anybody into original punk bands like The Clash, SLF, UK Subs etc ? These were bands before it became called " hard-core " I suppose and while some of those early 80's bands were great most were bollocks. The earlier bands had a sense of melody and tension rather than just a shit mindless thrash. It was also before mohicans became fashion statements. Bands like the Ruts and Sham 69 who had classic anthems and regularly got on Top of the Flops, when it actually meant something. Killing Joke were brilliant and different for those of us who like their rock very traditonal and guitar based. You had the fantastic Skids led by Stuart Adamson, before he left to form the brilliant Big Country. R.I.P. Great days, great bands.
