i seriously love tools. there's no better feeling than when some idiotic job comes up and you have the proper specialty tool to take care of it. high quality tools of the 50s/60s are really great when your father in law gives them to you since his ass won't use them anymore.

I thought this was about the tools in our day to day lives, as in a derogertory sense. Like the fucking tool that knew everything and talked shit about me behind my back at work. But, I'd have to say that the coolest tool I work with is that fucking work boat. Nothing's cooler than a boat that can pick up 500 lb anchors of the bottom of the lake, move 'em drop 'em, and run cable out to it all. It's fun, and it makes it easy.

Lessee... of the tools I used at work today I'd have to say it's the pneumatic valve spring compressor that rocks the most. What I need is a Neway seat cutter. That thing is pimp.

My father is a machinist by trade. As a kid I used to love going on tours at his work just to check out some of the bad ass shit he gets to work with.

i bought a new set of titanium bosch drillbits last night. i like the idea of doing work on my vw with a bosch drill using bosch drillbits CAUSE I KEEP IT REAL LIKE THAT.
also those "great neck" tools they sell at autozone are actually really pretty nice. i got a flex head stubby rachet handle a couple weeks ago and have used it a lot since then. really nice attaching the fenders while the tires are still mounted due to the added clearance it gives you.

also, no matter how many tool boxes you own, they should always be just a few ounces away from giving you hernia when you have to lift it

I helped my brother-in-law move a few weeks ago. He fixes/cleans furnaces and boilers for a living, and that motherfucker had some heavy tool boxes.

New Year's eve I was back east, and I went to the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn to get away from Times Square. Lamp, you might have seen the pictures of me and the Cap'n there, with the steam whistles. Anyway, the place has steam generators dating back over 100 years, and the tools they had hanging there rocked. Like 4 1/2 inch open end wrenches that were 3 feet long and weighed 70 pounds.
The tool I most want right now is the Neway seat cutter.
My housemate with all the great tools just moved out, but the guy we got to replace him has even better tools. He has a $4000 OBDII scanner. Rock & Roll.

I remember seeing pictures of you and the Cap'n but not with any whistle.
How is he, anyway?

He is approximately one thousand four hundred eighty times cooler than ever. His band from 27 years ago just had a reunion gig at a strip club in Manhattan. His bass player is Tommy Hilfiger's brother. Yeah. It coulda been me, but I'm stuck in California, many miles from Spancil Hill.

He's 48 or 49. Good ol' tinnitus thread. He's the man. I wish I was back east, just so's I could hang out with him instead of a bunch of damn hippies.
