Picked up this old Peugeot on the side of the road for $16... Frame was solid, but the old parts that were on it (derailleurs especially) were notoriously unreliable, so I tore it apart, and made it a fixie. Super fun bike. Still working out the bugs, but I think it's a keeper!
... Well, ok I can't get the gallery to work, where I host my pics... so I'll post a pic once I find another spot, or once this is fixed.

I try to stay away from those kinds of hosts.... I think the gallery I use will be fixed soon, I brought it up to the dude who runs it. Thanks though.

Really? If you ever find anything good, and don't have a use for it, let me know. Me and Dan are always down for salvaging stuff!
Also, a bike shop in Westerly has a nice vintage Peugeot that they're trying to get rid of. It's made from Reynolds 531 tubing, much lighter than my frame. It's in good condition overall, if you, or anyone else is interested!

i'm strictly about salvage man... even the ten bucks for new tubes on a garbage bike chafes me...heh

After a few hours of chopping, flipping, fitting, adjusting today, here's what the bike now looks like. Once I find my tireirons, it'll be ready to go!!!!!

Looks mighty gay... It's not near as good as my "grandma mobile." That bad boy is from 1950's and it's got class. It's not an old rusty peice of shit either, "the grandma mobile" is in mint condition and it was really expensive at the time.

No your gay and so is your gay band and your gay little bike, you faggot.
And you fuckin' Americans are too fucking proud. Do you honestly think you live in the best country. You guys are a waste of oxygen.
And yes, Canada is freeloading off you guys- that's what makes it so funny.

My newest toy. '76 Schwinn Paramount Track. Don't worry, the hideous bars and pedals are getting replaced very soon.

It is the ultimate simplicity. No worries about cables, derailleurs, just you and the bike. They are intimidating at first, but I can't imagine riding anything else anymore.
