Looks like they've managed to capture the scrounginess of the Silent Hill environments pretty well. I don't hold out much hope for it to be a good movie though.
I just thank god Uwe Boll didn't get the rights to direct this movie as well.

These video game to movie translations don't exactly fill me with joy, but one thing I am kind of looking forward to is Doom. I know it's probably going to be PG-13 and soaked with CGI, but at the same time I'm holding onto this glimmer of hope that it's going to be an ultraviolent glop-fest.

You know, I actually enjoyed the Resident Evil: Apocalypse, once I got over thinking about its obvious flaws and shit. I got free tickets to see it from Sony Australia (was a winner of a competition I didn't even enter). It was a good way to spend an hour and a half (or whatever the run time was).
Of course, my opinion might've differed if I had've actually paid for the tickets.

whoa there making a doom movie. i have a feeling even if it's horribly scripted and is really low budget it's still gonna be great how the fuck could that be bad? Well, it's going to be directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak who has also done Cradle 2 The Grave, Exit Wounds, and Romeo Must Die. Seeing as all three of those movies were rated R, I'm hoping he keeps with the flow. It's also going to star The Rock. Funny thing about The Rock...every movie I've seen with him I want to hate, but I end up enjoying. That even includes The Rundown. It just seems like he has this campy 80's action aura about him that really sticks out in today's films. Kind of like Arnold Schwartzeneger and Sylvester Stallone in movies like Raw Deal and Cobra...you just take them for what they are and enjoy them at face value. So basically, I'm hoping Doom will be as enjoyably graphic as Total Recall, but in all honesty I would settle for the equivalent of I Come In Peace.
