Why do we need to do it on a certain day? Can't every day just be National Emo Kid Beat Down Day?

It's kind of like Thanksgiving. We can get together to eat and be thankful every day of the year if we wanted to...but by setting aside a day dedicated to doing just that it builds unity and, more importantly, gives most people a day off from work.
