When I heard that Nuclear Assault was getting back together and recording a new album I couldn't wait for it to come out. Now that it has and I have given it a listen......I wish I had saved my money. The opening track(title) seemed promising at first, until it didn't change for its entirety. The next 3 track were decent at best and then came along track 5, "Wine And Cheese". Now I'm assuming this song is one of their intended to be humorous songs but John Connelly is VERY annoying while singing it. It was so annoying in fact that I can't stand listening to it at all. Next up the first song on the album in which the music is written by Dan Lilker. Now this is a lot more like the Nuclear Assault I remember. Any fan of Lilker can instantly tell that he wrote the music for it. The next two songs are back in the vein of old Nuke, once again Lilker had a hand in writing these songs too and it shows 'cause they rip. Track 9 unbelievably scores points for John as this is probably the best tune on the album that he wrote solely by himself. Then a classic 14 second Nuclear song followed by yet another good tune from Lilker. And yet one more joke song.....but again I can't even listen to it because it is well.....theres a mouth harp, a banjo and other assorted hillbilly instruments. It was however funny the first time but then it just sucks. Finally the last tune is the only one written by Glenn Evans, Lyrics by Connelly, and featuring Anthony Bramante playing lead! I liked this track quite a bit, its really thrashy. So to some it up if you're an old fan of Nuclear Assault (pre Something Wicked) than I would recommend this CD but if you've never listened to them before I would suggest obtaining a copy of Game Over, The Plague, Survive, or Handle With Care.
