1. Embody The Invisible- An excellent way to start off the album, a powerful introduction for both the song and the album, with a solo coming right in over top of those of so distinct chords thrown down by Björn and Jesper. Then Anders comes in with a typical raspy tone that puts you in an almost euphoric state, leading out into yet again more solos from Björn and Jesper. A solid drum beat that keeps the song tighter than the virgin Mary herself. Overall this ranks up there with one of my favorite In Flames songs ever and on this album.

2. Ordinary Story- I'll have to admit, when I heard this cheesy fade-in, I was already starting to doubt this track. There was no real kick-in the nuts intro in this song like on the Embody The Invisible...but, I waited it out to see what Anders was going to say to change my mind about this song..hopefully, and sure enough, he pulled through, with the tempo of the song slowing down, and loosing all that high gain modern killer distortion off their Peavy 5150's, Anders begins to preach his words, in a soft and soothing voice that quites to a whisper. But Anders does not keep his voice at an inside level for long! after he's done his whispers he comes in with that bad-ass growl of his ripping away at your insides with a good ol' killer cut throat riff coming from the two ax Salinger's. Then something happens that puts me in culvulsions!..I ask myself...whats this?! a Piano .. with possibly the best riff I've ever heard come from the good ol' black and white keyed box of strings.
Then the typical solo for In Flames comes in...with yet again more piano following. This song certainly grabbed me by the nuts for making such a flop impression on me for the first few seconds.

3. Scorn- Okay. This song is good. But I was certainly not so entertained like I was with the other 2 before..plain and simple this track is pretty bland and boring, nothing new or exciting here. worth listening too, but didn't shine in my eyes.
ToEndAnEra's rating:C
4. Colony- The title track for this album certainly caught my attention when it switched on. It doesn't start of with amazing power or with a catchy solo, but it does have an eerie sort of feel to it. Then it gets a little heavier with a tribal sounding beat and a stop and go guitar riff. Then it's back into the eerie sounding guitar when Anders is singing. It's a less growly style of vocals vocals for the verse, with words that are almost distinguishable ha ha. Then the guitar goes a little heavier with an amazing riff that, surprising for in flames, you can hear each and every note of. There is no solo in this song, but there is some pretty cool bridges in it. Overall there is nothing overbearing about this song, it's easy and enjoyable to listen to.
ToEndAnEra's rating: A-
5. Zombie Inc- Not much to say about this song..other than HOLY SHIT IT OWNS. Nothing bad about this song..flawless, my favorite song on the album. there is a break down with a beautiful clean solo that would bring tears to every guitar lovers eyes.
ToEndAnEra's rating: A+
6. Pallar Anders Visa- a completely Anders free, standard tuning acoustic song, short of length but strong in spirit, when violins coming in in the last portion of the song for a beautiful fade out..even your grandmother would enjoy this bad boy. overall a excellent song and break halfway through the album
ToEndAnEra's rating: A
7. Coerced Coexistence- An immediate attention grabbing song. a ridiculous intro that would make every little metal girls pants wet and even most little metal boys. Nothing spectacular from Anders' corner in this one, but the guitar boys certainly show that they can shred and give the most picky reviewer goose bumps. Another album favorite!
ToEndAnEra's rating: A+
8. Resin- A overall good song that made me want to get up and dance, but again did not shine in my eyes, there was no real special something in this song.
ToEndAnEra's rating: B-
9. Behind Space '99- This song is strange...compeling, yet, boring, i wanted to listen to it, but it makes me sort of bored...this certainly took a while to review, but i decied to go with the fact i love it...it's so weird that it's beautiful:)
ToEndAnEra's rating: B
10. Insipid 2000- As with all great things there must be a weak link somewhere, and it seems to be in this song. By far the worst track of the album, a complete bore.
ToEndAnEra's rating: D
11. The New Word- Another powerful track for guitar, drums, and vocals. It brought back my faith in this album...after 3 so so to poor quality tracks in a row. The drums are what really set me for this track. They make this song flow like a river down a moutain. Yet again there are more near impossible to play solo's that would not be classified as shred, but certainly could tear your skin off.
ToEndAnEra's rating: A-
12. Clad In Shadows '99- The song starts of with a catch tribal beat overtop of an amazing guitar riff. The vocals are nothing out of the ordinary for In Flames. Just past the half way mark in the song, a small soloy guitar piece comes in that add's a little more spice to this already great songs.
ToEndAnEra's rating: B+
13. Man Made God- all i can say for this fine tune is...WOW! could not of picked a better track to end this album with, a complete instrumental with nurmerous solo's and even an acoustic guitar thrown in the mix of things, it sounds like the music that would be played at the ending credits of a really good action movie that ended with some really sweet effects. I could listen to this song all day and never get bored of it!
ToEndAnEra's rating:A
ToEndAnEra's overall comments: This album is truely a work of art! although it has it's weak points, it is one of their best albums ever!. For a new In Flames fan, this album would come highly recomended to you. It is sure to lock you into the wonderful world of the boys from In Flames!
