Dammit. I was wanting to add to Horatio's written review of this album. Now before anything else I am a metal snob. Yes, I am a fvcking snob. I only like the best and can give the exacting reasons why. I'm am a deep lover of metal and can only tolerate those artists who truly have something to say, vice those who have more aggresion than talent. I grew up on both Metallica and Megadeth. I remember reading Hit Parader when "Killem All" debuted. But I can say unequivocally that "Rust in Peace" is the masterpiece of the lot. Yes, "Masters of Puppets" is the peak of Metallica's creativity but the virtuocity of RIP makes it timeless. I would give an A+ to all the songs on on "Rust In Peace" except for "Dawn Patrol" which (I'll admit) is kinda cheesy.
Horatio, you are an excellent writer. All that you wrote about this thrash epic cannot be upstaged. You are very well versed and it shows. But, come on now..."Tornado of Souls" is just as killer as any other on that album.
Folks, and fellow true connoisseurs of metal, this is a timeless classic. Especially for those who also play the guitar. This is pure SHRED. FVCKING SHRED. No parallel.
The Beatles had Abbey Road. Metal has Rust In Peace. Thank God.
