it's about a group of heroes assembled during the 1890s from various famous works of literature (allan quartermain, invisible man, dr jekyll/mr hyde, mina harker, captain nemo, and dorian gray) to combat super badguys with high tech (for the time period) technology/weapons. it was based on a high profile graphic novel by alan moore (which i haven't read btw).

The graphic novel was cheezily entertaining. Sort of a guilt pleasure kinda thing. Following the steampunk trend, it was pretty formulaic. The movie was just flat out boring.

I think they spent too much time assembling the league, and not enough time kicking evil-doers' asses.
