A dumb movie website's plot outline: With a plan to exact revenge on a mythical shark that killed his partner, oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) rallies a crew that includes his estranged wife (Anjelica Huston), a journalist (Cate Blanchett), and a man who may or may not be his son (Owen Wilson).
My review: One of the funniest movies I have seen all year. Bill Murray delivers on of his best performances in a long time, with all the dry, sarcastic humor that he's known for. While the quality of the movie is terrible, it just contributes to the humor. In one particular scene, Murray and his crew are running through a puddle, when Murray emerges covered in leeches, and says "Swamp leeches! Anyone else get hit?" Of course, no one else got hit.
There's too many good parts in this movie for me to try and summarize, because it wouldn't sound funny to you. But, I strongly recommend this movie.

Bill Murray is one of those guys who has built a career from classic roles in movies like Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Caddyshack...but it's the roles in his later years which have been more funny. Movies like Rushmore, Ed Wood, and even Charlie's Angels. I think Groundhog's Day was the real turning point in his career.
I've been out of the modern movie loop for close to a decade now, but I'll make it a point to look for this one on my bi-annual run to the rental store.

I was watching Jeopardy, and one of the categories was Bill Murray film quotes.

This movie was hilarious except I wish I could've been drunk or high at the time cause it would've been that much better. Bill Murray was stoned for the whole movie.
