180g vinyl is cool and all, but that box just doesn't seem worth $100...regardless of it being Metallica. Maybe if they threw in a double-DVD and some live material, but $100 for 4 studio releases, some covers, and a Creeping Death picture disc would only seem worth it to somebody who is either new to Metallica or a hardcore vinyl-collecting fan.

I consider myself a reasonably hardcore vinyl fan and a pretty hardcore early Metallca fan as well, and I still wouldn't buy that. For some reason the "expanded double vinyl, gatefold sleeves" just strikes me the wrong way. Also, I never like "And Justice For All" and I'm not a fan of picture discs in general.
I don't think $100 is really a bad price at all however. Price out buying all those records individually and you would probably spend more than $100. Garage Days is out of print in every format for instance.

Relapse has been releasing a lot of their shorter CDs on 7" vinyl lately and I wonder if I could just go to a store and trade in the CDs for their vinyl counterparts. Things that have peaked my interest:
Burnt By The Sun - s/t Dillinger Escape Plan - Under The Running Board Mastodon - Lifesblood(two 7" set)

Today I was in a music store and I was flipping through the 7" section like I always do, when I stumbled across one of the most hilarious things I'd ever seen in a music store. It was by a band called Sodomized By Marcia Brady. The song titles had a couple Brady Bunch references, and I think they all had some juvenile fucking euphamism in them. It also said something on the back about how it was "100% Hardcore!". Should I go back and buy this? It's probably only four bucks or so, but there's a good chance it will still be there next time I go.
So instead I walked out with a Team America poster(you know, after paying of course). Fuck yeah!

I did a little bit o' research for you. For starters, that thing is only worth on average of $3 brand new. Second, even if it is $4, it sounds like it's worth a shot.

that record has been gathering dust at armageddon for like 6 months, i don't think there's any huge demand for it.
