GWAR Confirm New Record Deal, Begin Work On Studio Album - June 18, 2004 As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first revealed on May 10, legendary heavy metal band GWAR have now officially confirmed that they have inked a deal with DRT Entertainment, the independent label founded last year by senior music industry executives Derek Shulman, Ron Urban and Ted Green. The group will record the follow-up to 2001's "Violence Has Arrived" at Wreckroom Studios in Richmond, Va. and will mix at the Chop Shop in NYC. Handling the production duties will be Glen Robinson, who worked with the band on their classic third album, "America Must Be Destroyed". "I don’t expect to survive," Robinson said in a statement, "but if I can make it through the mixes we should be cool." DRT will also be re-issuing GWAR's debut album "Hell-O" and the classic follow-up "Scumdogs of the Universe" as a specially packaged double CD on August 3. A world tour in support of the new album will begin in October.

I wouldn't hesitate to pick up the re-issues if they threw in some unreleased material, as well.
Looking forward to the new GWAR, although I have a feeling it's just going to be a mindless sequel to Violence Has Arrived. Less tired metal riffs and more creative genre splicing!
