Does anyone else here see this as an art form? I've been downloading a whole bunch of it lately. I even found a band called The Advantage that plays video game music on guitar and stuff. It's awesome.

Oddly enough, I've been on a video game music kick lately. Currently listening to some Gaming FM.
You should check out The Minibosses. Awesome video game cover band with some originals thrown in here and there.

I must agree. There are a lot of video games out there with surprisingly good soundtracks. I've often wanted to cover some themes from the Mega Man X and Battletoads series.
There's this theme that I've had stuck in my head for the longest time, and just the other day I found out it's from "Mega Man's Soccer." I was shocked.

I just heard this guy/band/whatever named Saskrotch that seems to be running video game tunes through a turntable. Taking music from various video games and adding a groovy rap beat. I like it. I like it a lot.

The Cerulean City music in Pokemon Red is awesome.
I liked it so much I had to record it to my computer.

Nobuo Uematsu's (the guy who composed most of the Final Fantasy series' music) band The Black Mages is pretty cool, they basically do rock/metal covers of Final Fantasy music.

One of my friends sent me a 22 minute song called Crystal Flash...all Super Metroid music. It's absolutely amazing. If anyone wants it, add TheLampIncident to your Soulseek list and look in my Video games folder.
