Okay since im in USA right now. I pretty much have easy access to most metal CD's. Here what I bought so far:
Nile's In Thier Darkened Shrines - I like how they made the extra effort of explaining the myth behind every song on the CD. THe music kicks in the face as well.
Cradle of Filth's Cruelty and the Beast - just completing some back catalogue
Gwar's Violence has Arrived - catching up on thier new music
Kataklysm's Serenity in Fire - like Nile, I love their drumming
Amon Amarth's Fate of Norns - This band will easily beat Dimmu Borgir as my favorite band anytime if only they didnt make their albums too fucking short. I know quality over quantity but cmon, dont they know you can put more than 60 mins of music in one disc? But really I love their every release. I dont know if you heard this one spoon but its comparable to thier Versus the World CD. I think they slowed down a notch on this one but for the purpose of a longer build up and drama. Johan sings lower and deeper now unlike the first time on Once upon the great halls. I totally recommend.
And then I bought some Keane, some old Chet Baker and Jazz compilations but this is not the board to talk about it I GUess

Wow. I didn't realize you were such a huge Amon Amarth fan. I thought you were pretty much into the atmospheric stuff.
None the less, what do you think of that GWAR? Huge difference from their earlier stuff, wouldn't you say?

Did you get the Cruelty and the Beast with the second disc?

That's the version I have. Well worth the few extra bucks if you at all dig CoF. The only problem with owning it lies in the fact that when you walk down the street, kids point and laugh at me for liking Cradle Of Filth.

I wish I had that Nile CD. The only one I have is Black Seeds Of Vengance.

Well, if you're only going to own one Nile album, Black Seeds Of Vengence is definitely their best. When you get around to it, though, In Their Darkened Shrines is pretty fucking good and well worth the $14.

Yeah but you are an adult who chooses to listen to COF as opposed to a child who listens to COF because MTV tells you to. And yes the 2x disc is well worth it

In all honesty, I think their cover of Venom's Black Metal is one of the best Venom covers of all time. **ducks flying objects**
By the way, welcome to the boards, oRg!

Thanx for the welcome Shevy. No flying objects from me because I haven't heard any Venom. Ijust never really felt compelled to buy or download anything of theirs I guess.
Also you'll se me regularly on this board...especially when I at work because I get bored out of my mind. Just for those who are wondering I'm a Microcomputer lab assistant where I basically just baby-sit a printer and watch people walk in and out. Not to mention I work on a college campus which does suck becuase most people listen to what's on MTv. It's hard to find someone to talk to here who knows who Cannibal Corpse or Slayer is...lol. Enough of my bitching I just figured i'd introduce myself. Oh, I also like CoF (not being funny about that), pumpkin pie, long walks on a beach riddled with broken shards of glass, and my favorite movie is A Clockwork Orange (not being funny about that).

Huge difference from their earlier stuff, wouldn't you say? It changes. I was into alot of Black metal then to death, now it all kinds of stuff. I have ordered some Edguy. I think Im going to get that Katatonia. ANd have youheard the band Grand Magus? They say its good DOom. Im into doom lately becuase of My Dying bride. You know what? Fate of Norns song structure I think alot of it is doom. I mean they dont dirge but they tend to build up towards the chorus

Good lord, Grand Magus is awesome. If you dig doom and stoner, you should check out Tunda Trash Radio at live365.com. 99% of the stuff they play is either doom or stoner rock. Very good stuff.
