i know buddy did some vocals last night but i think they were older songs (i know he did "squash the bug" plus a couple more at least). he def mentioned suffering from some writer's block coming up with lyrics to the new shit. me brian and buddy did some backing vocals on a half dozen songs but you guys are gonna need to decide if you dig that i guess since buddy was the only band member there last night. shit sounded good on playback though. brian burned buddy a cdr (unmixed obv) so hit him up for it, he didn't even make himself a copy.
this stuff sounds sooo much better than on the earlier demos. all the instruments sound good, even in the unmixed state. like the "pre-chorus" breakdown on the song third death... damn it sounds so good. seriously, congrats to you guys and brian.

Out of curiosity, are there any ideas at this point when some of this material will be put on vinyl?

practically speaking, i imagine this will be done/pressed/ready for sale in the spring or summer at the earliest

what makes you think it will take that long? a lot of times, bands will release a record in the summer that says it was recorded *that* spring, or whatever. is there just a lot of backup at the pressing plants?

i'm just trying to be realistic. it COULD go quicker but i have heard too many stories about records being at the plant for months to think this is just going to get cranked out.

Well, we're back. It was a cool experience overall. The Philly show could have gone a little smoother, but it was still really cool. Circle Pit Fest was really really incredible. They have a great thing going on down there, everyone supports each other. We met a lot of cool people, and definitely made an impression down there. Out of the 10-15 bands that played, we played 3rd to last. Don't ask me how that happened, hah. We played just in time too, because Joel played after us, and the place had really cleared out by then. I'll post more details soon, I'm wiped out right now.

we showed up to philly pretty early, so we went to FDR (insane concerete skatepark) and thrashed there for a while. got back to the house and waited for people to show up. bands started playing around 8 or so. we were going on after this one band, and had to use some of their equipment (we only brought guitars, heads, snare and cymbals). we set up, and get less than halfway through our set and the bass cab stops working. at that point there was no other stuff there to use, so we waited for the next band to get there. they reluctantly said we could use their stuff, but it was pretty obvious that they'd rather us not, so we didnt play again that night. even still, with the handful of songs we did play, people were stoked. that night we were supposed to crash at that house, but it was full (and i mean FULL) of smoke and people partying, so we knew we werent actually going to get to sleep. a dude from the last band offered us his place, said there's heat there, and no partys. we get there, and its a huge party as well heheh. so, we just crashed in my car in some big parking lot... it was cold, only actually slept for like, 2 hours.
the next morning, we woke up and thrashed FDR again for a bit. then we headed out for baltimore early afternoon. hit a little bit of traffic on the way there, but its only a couple hours away, so no big deal. we showed up to the place a couple hours early again, so we grabbed some food. now, this place, the jerkstore, was awesome. its basically an apartment, with an attached warehouse space. you go through the backdoor and you end up in a long, narrow cement walled room. thats where the show was. they had a big backdrop behind the bands that they were showing movies through a projector on. it was awesome. by the time bands ended up playing this place was PAAACKED. the apartment, and the band space were both just full of people. it was awesome. common enemy opened up, another skate oriented band. the dude was running around with an old skate deck throwing it at the walls and jumping off the pa speakers. other bands that played were i object (female fronted, vegan sxe, semi political stuff. very knarly), magrudergrind, a warm gun (good music, and totally chill dudes. they hooked us up with records, and tapes, and zines.. awesome), chainsaw to the face, terminal youth, spoonful of vicodin, toxic holocaust, and ocean (from portland, maine. i think they're doom-ish stuff). i guess the guys in toxic holocaust got into a fight or something? they wanted to play early so they could split, but the lineup changed around every 2 seconds. we started setting up after a warm gun, thinking we were using the same equipment they did, because that's what we were told... then, the guitarist from spoonful of vicodin starts packing her stuff up. who knows, a lot of confusion about that shit, but in the end we ended up using the same stuff, and it was awesome. tommy from send more cops was there, and him and a couple other dudes were singing along to everything. whenever i looked up at the crowd, it was just buddy, in front of a solid wall of people. insane, everyone was moving around, and getting totally stoked. we got rid of a bunch of demos, and made enough money for gas and tolls. buddys got a video, and its digital. if we can figure it out, maybe ill put some clips online.
after the show (2am), we headed out for home... i got real tired about half an hour into the drive, so we crashed in parking lot again for a few hours, got up at 6:30 and went the rest of the way. it was a real good time, and we made a lot of good connections for tour. DIY is in full effect down there, its inspiring.

toxic holocaust was good, but at that point, i was trying to get up out of there since i was the driver. i heard most of his set from outside, packing stuff up. i went in to get buddy, and heard a couple songs in there, including 666. sweetness. i felt bad though ,because by the time he played there was only 15-20 people in there.
im not sure how long it'll be until we have that vid online. buddys mom gave him an early xmas present (digital cam), so getting it onto a computer may take a while. the other thing is that you really cant see *anything* in the video, except when people take pictures. like i said, the only light in there was the big projector. we'll see how it came out, heh, ill let you know.
