another funny thing was that i saw one kid down there with an ulcer patch and a dropdead patch on his jacket. then i saw a different kid with a dropdead shirt on, who had just bought an ulcer record. i asked him where he was from, and he said some maryland town. i told him i played in third death, and we were from rhode island, and i was just curious if he was from up there. he seemed stoked that a RI band was there.

just came back from background vocal sesh of rerecorded third death stuffs. sounds much better than the first time around. the guys were playing faster and dirtier and i think it will really pay dividends when we hear the final mix.

not sure yet, i wanted to do half on blue, half on yellow, and not clean the press between runs so there'd be a small amount of green swirl, but the plant is telling me they "can't" do the swirl which is fuckin bullshit. also ten or so black vinyl test presses. possibly one other color in very small numbers (50 or less). i would do more colors but they charge you a decent sized fee for every color change, so i don't want to go too crazy.
i have some great ideas for limited packaging too. probably a record release show package and maybe a mail order only package, but i'm getting ahead of myself here. just take my word that they will look awesome.
also also: listening to the initial mix down today it is a clear improvement over the first session. this is gonna be good.

scoots. i want some input on the mix dude. i listen to it constantly. so far i've got:
KICK DRUM UP!!!!
crash cymbal up a bit
when i listen to it on low volume, it sounds like the guitar is too loud. when i listen to it blasted it sounds like the bass is overwhelming???
what chooo think?!

played this several times last night, agreed on the drums. i think maybe guitar should come up too, or maybe just on a few tracks? having this thing all as one continuous "song" is fucking irritating.

yeah. you could use sound editor to break it up, it would just be a pain in the ass
we all agreed that we wanna have brian do a mix by himself (with no comments/distractions) and then have us listen to it, and see what we think. its hard to mix when you have 6 people in a room chatting/criticizing
