*jaw hits floor*
$20 for two days of those bands?!? I'm going to do everything in my power to catch it on Saturday at the very least. Phobia, CoDC, Adolf Satan, Biolich, and Hirudinea on day one...Grief, Syzslak, and id on day two. Jesus Christ that's an awesome line-up!

Considering that the AS220 20th anniversary is on the same day as that Saturday lineup and Lightning Bolt, Mahi Mahi, and Tiny Hawks are playing, it will be very hard to convince people to go with me...
So I'd just end up going alone. Lightning Bolt's doing a mini tour very shortly after that, I'd miss out on seeing them once to go see this doom/grind fest thing.

1) First of all, I just realized that the Into The Moat show and the Lightning Bolt Providence show on the mini-tour are on the same night. I know the ITM show starts at 8(Raising Kubrick and Watch Them Die playing before) and Lightning Bolt is at the AS220. Right now I'm assuming the AS220 show starts at 9(probably even later because, well, it's the AS220.) Any time I've been to any kind of metalcore show or whatever, it actually started on time, so I'm assuming that the Moat show at Club Giza will start at 8 like it's supposed to. I don't know if Lightning Bolt's playing first or what, but I'm hoping I can see Into The Moat, leave(sorry Soilent Green, but you're no Lightning Bolt) and get to the AS220 in time.
2) Found out The Number Twelve Looks Like You is playing the Living Room on August 3rd. The songs I heard from them weren't too great(kind of like a more metal and more annoying Daughters) but I want to check this out. Should be fun.
3) Municipal Waste THIS THURSDAY! YES!

Sounds of the Undrground tour yesterday (6-26-05) was really decent. Full Blown Chaos was probably the best band and had the best pit (with a wall of death included) and they opened. The rest of the bands did pretty well even if the sound guy was fucking up all the time and stuff kept cutting out. Got to meet Lamb Of God, and the singer from Full bLown Choas was manning his own booth so that was a pleasure to get my shit signed and talk to him for a while. All in all it was a good show. I was really suprised about the lineup order thought. I think it went something like this... Full Blown Choas, Devildriver, A Life Once Lost, Norma Jean, The Red Chord, Every Time I Die, Throwdown, Strapping Young Lad, GWAR, Opeth, Chimaira, Clutch, From Autum to Ashes, Unearth, Lamb of God. and I think Poison the Well was in it as well. Who the fuck knows, I had 13 beers there and didn't even catcha buzz (did get one hell of a headache though) the point is that the lineup order wasn't even close to what I thought it would be. I mena who the hell would put GWAR in the middle or make UNEARTH the act before Lamb of God. Amazing.
Althought the smartasses who wore white at the GWAR show had their shirts immediatly painted red. and some useless slut who had her ass signed by Lamb of God was bitching about it. Stupid stupid girl.
The pits wern't that great (with the exception of Throwdown and Full Blown Choas) and the turnout was a lot less than I expected. But, hey I can't complain. Best 30 dollars I've spent on a concert this year.

I wish I could have gone to that. Seriously. The GWAR pictures on Return to the Pit were great.
By the way, yesterday was the 25th.
And having been to a Throwdown show before, I can automatically tell you their pits are not great. Fuck ninjas.

ha ha, But the ninjas get pissed when you charge them like a raging bull and open field tackle them. Or my other favorite. A stright front kick to the chest. That usually calms them down. i don't know man, I don't mind getting kicked by ninjas though. It's better then being pushed and then have someone apologize right after. I'd rather be punched right in the face.

I don't know. Maybe it's cause I'm a small guy, but it seems like all the huge jocks start ninja pits to claim territory. I like moshing a lot but if these guys are trying to keep people out with their spin kicking(hence why they always do it at the edges of the pit) then I don't support it. I like the push pits...or actually like the last show I went to where it basically devolved into everyone cramming into a space as small as possible shoving each other around(maybe it was because it was on a basement or because it's just the way to do it) but that was a lot of fun for me.

to each their own man. I enjoy both. I do see your point though. There's nothing like having those three dipshits being "ninjas" when everyone else is in a puch pit. but then again. 65 ninjas at once can be a lot of fun too if your into that kind of thing. But. yeah. I like hardcore shows where puching and kicking is the thing to do, and I like the push pits as well. But I hate shows where there are two hardcore bands and the rest aren't. sometimes they do ruin it for the rest.

I'm probably biased because the first time I'd ever seen anybody do the ninja shit, I tried to join in, got knocked over, and ended up with a pretty good limp for the next week or so(pretty sure I broke the small toe in my right foot).

I never claimed I was a ninja but I do love knocking them over. Circle pits are enjoyable as well.
