I couldn't bring myself to pay $30 to see Slayer (or probably any band ever really). Ann from Armageddon said she got into a couple of fights... "awesome"

I felt kind of like a whore paying 30 bucks to go to a show, but I have to figure...when's the next time Mastodon will come to Providence? Probably not for a while.
Incidentally, I also paid 30 dollars for a shirt, which made me feel like an even bigger whore since at normal shows you can buy three shirts with that money.

While I don't think $30 is outlandish for a good show, especially one containing Slayer, I don't think I would have shelled it out for them, Mastodon, and Killswitch Engage. I can apprecate the draw a line-up like this would attract, but Mastodon gives me a headache and Killswitch is just plain crapola.
I'd easily pay $15 for Slayer by themselves, though...more if they promised to only play stuff from Divine Intervention and earlier.
$30 for a T-shirt is flat out robbery, but if it's a shirt you dig and you had the cash laying around, there's nothing wrong with that.

i wouldn't pay $30 for a band shirt that had a 20 dollar bill pinned to it.

Well, I had the cash laying around. More than I know what to do with. I want to put it in the bank so I don't have to look at it anymore.

last night: work/death (one man bass noise junk ugh) The Nightmare Continues (Prov grind) Noosebomb (Boston sludgey doom metal) The Fuzz (ferocious ex-Vincebus Eruptum/White Mice/Dropdead craziness) standing around in an unheated warehouse for hours...

i thought they sounded really good. they weren't exactly super high energy or anything, but they were pretty tight and got a decent reaction from a relatively small, non-metal crowd. like i said, it was in an unheated warehouse on a tuesday night and there were maybe 50 people brave enough to stick it out, so i dunno. supposedly when they played at as220 last month there were only something like 10 non-band members in the crowd. ouch.

Doesn't Noosebomb have former Disrupt members? If so, I would definetely check that band out.

i think former disrupt/grief? That is correct, but they sound more like Grief than they do Disrupt.

Get a load of this. Apparently my friends in United Against are playing with All Those Opposed, Terminal Youth, and Counteract at the AS220 on December 12th. Wow. People I know are starting to get big in the local scene.

Yesterday:
United Against(friends from high school, street punk) Counteract(seemed to sound a little more international) Shred The Past(sounded like Dropdead meets Anti-Flag) Neo-Prophets(?)(thrashy band with its share of set problems)
At the AS220. A day show.
Good times.

Friday:
Tiny Hawks Made in Mexico White Mice USAisamonster
at redrum, Olneyville. the warehouse was about 15 degrees. white mice played a set of mangled xmas songs (violent night, cum ye ol' faithful, etc) in full santa suits WITH the mouse masks, lit only by a single red siren light. too fuckin much. it was a release party for their "do they know it's christmice?' cdr, which you should be able to find if your soul seeks it...
