I was at our Chrysler dealership this afternoon working on a couple of nagging problems, and after I finished up a buddy of mine asked if I could give him a lift up the street. I was out drinking with a few friends and some other guys I've met a few times but didn't really know. We were all shooting the shit about music when the band Dysmenorrheic Hemorrhage is mentioned. This one smart motherfucker goes, "What? How the fuck do they ever plan to get on MTV with a name like THAT!?!"

Being the reasonable man I am, I flipped the table over and kung-fu chopped him in the throat.

If it goes to show you the level of this kid's intelligence, we drug him along to a show once where he took great pride in standing on the railing above the pit and kicking people down below. Real fucking asshole.

This isn't really about music specifically, but about the punk lifestyle in general....

couple weeks ago I was hanging out at my friend's garage and I was wearing my leather jacket which is covered in like 5 lbs of spikes and studs and a Toxic Holocaust patch that is illegible to anyone unfamiliar with the band. So this other dude I know drives up and sees me and says "hi, Fonzie!" Like that was the closest cultural reference point this guy had for a guy in a leather jacket...

I remember getting into anargument with a friend who said "Cradle of Filth is the epitmoe of Black Metal"...I then replied "Cradle of Filth isn't Black Metal...they're goth rock and they even said so in an interview with MuchMusic". He got pissy about it.

Why do so many people think Cradle of Filth is "the shit" as far as Black Metal goes. I think some people need to listen to some Naglfar...lol.

I can see how somebody that doesn't know much about the genre would confuse CoF for black metal. That's certainly nothing I would hold against anybody. The fact he claimed they were the epitame of bm is just plain ignorant, though.

I actually like CoF which I'm pretty sure makes me very much uncool by default. I also own a CoF T-shirt which makes me a border-line fag. I was out with some friends drinking one night and bumped into an old buddy of mine from high school. I sat at his table when this other kid I was with started hitting on the waitress (poorly), and we were shooting the shit for a little bit about his noise project, what he was up to these days, he heard me on the radio recently, blah blah blah. It pretty much ended when he said, "So...is that a Cradle Of Filth shirt you're wearing?"

Looking down, I informed him that it indeed was a Cradle Of Filth shirt. This was followed by an awkward silence. Then I rejoined my friends I walked in with.

I saw him again at my ten year highschool reunion. I hung out with him for most of the night. The CoF t-shirt incident went unmentioned.
