i work in a box factory. everyone here has the mentality of a 2 year old.
i'm the "structural engineer" and basically design the form/structure for various kinds of flexible paperboard packaging (CAD design mostly). i also do some pre-press stuff, we have 5 and 6 color offset presses. basically i chill on the computer in my office most of the day, away from everone else thank god.

you don't "have" to, but that's the moden way to do it. makes sense if you want to be able to make sure the cutting die, artwork, etc is all EXACTLY the same. also, with the CAD system i can output directly to a plotter table to cut a one-off sample of a design that is close to an actual production sample.
