yeah, ann got up to sing that disrupt cover...
aaron is just all set with "the scene" and has no desire to ever play out/go to shows any more. they're still finishing up a new lp for gloom, but gloomfest in may is scheduled to be their last show (and i believe it).

Man, if there's one thing I fear in my life, it's the day that I ever say I have no desire to go to shows anymore. But I guess everyone's time must come.
He's still listening to the music though, right? Or not?

he still loves hardcore, just hates "the scene".... this kind of gay drama is unbecoming in adults

Hmm.
Well I'd say you've been part of the scene for some time, am I right? Only having been to the occasional show in the past couple years, I don't know much about it. Is it just more high school drama shit that I should avoid?
Obviously, I love seeing the bands live...but I never really talk to people at shows that I don't already know. I'm wondering if this is kind of a beacon.

there is no "scene" (imo) in the sense he means when he says it... he's just an angry guy that gets angry about every little thing and has attributed those annoyances to "the scene". aaron is a great dude but i think he's being overly dramatic.
i've been going to shows for about 15 years now and i'd say that providence is pretty welcoming towards new faces, though the fact that everyone already seems to know everyone else can be intimidating to a n00b. punk rock lifers are the coolest, there were a couple of 40+ year old dudes at the riistetyt show. awesome.

Went to a Nightwish gig on Tuesday night. They sounded great but they don't really work the crowd a whole lot.
Vanishing Point were supporting (one of Australia's finest Power/prog Metal acts) but they didn't get nearly the kind of reaction they deserved. Mostly because the crowd was full of goth posers that think listening to Nightwish makes them hardcore.
I'm seeing Angra and Dungeon tonight (Brazillian and Aussie Power outfits respectively), should be another good gig.

Angra...now there's a band that's fallen into obscurity. Around the mid-90's they used to be pretty big. I didn't even realize they were still together.

Where is it at again? Did you buy ahead of time because you think it'll sell out?

It's at the Living Room. I bought ahead of time because it didn't say anything on their page about buying at the door, so I just assumed you had to buy early.
I don't think it'll sell out, but I think there will be a decent crowd, to say the least.

I went to the Black Label Society, killswitch Enguage, Nonpoint, Skindered concert last weekend at the Tsongas Arena (for DAMAGEPLAN) and I have to say that that was THE WORST SHOW EVER! Killswitch was the best band. That's how sad it was. Zakk lost the crowd that night. nothing but a 15 minute solo and terrible jerking off with his mouth. It was AWEFUL. and it was a benefit for Damageplan. Vinnie Paul came out for two songs (2 BLS songs) and bobzilla and Pat came out to sing one too. But no Pantera songs, no Damageplan songs. NO FUCKING MECHANICAL BULL LIKE LAST YEAR! Very dissapointed. Sopme guy from England played tribute to Dime by playing some of his riffs and that was pretty good. But alas, there was NO PIT. and I fell asleap at a concert for the first time in my life. I would have rather have an anal exam from Burl Ives (ahhh a holly jolly Christmas indeed).

Bold is playing a reuinion show at CB's in NYC, so I definitely don't think that Converge show will sell out. Hopefully I'll be going to see Converge, but I'm not sure.

Well, if you read this board again before going, be sure to look for kind of a short kid with semi-bushy blonde hair with a TSOL shirt.
Yeah, that's me.

Words cannot describe how bad I smell right now.
That was awesome.
I was stage diving all over the place.
I recognized pretty much every song.
I got stage dived on.
We all got squashed.
I want to do it again.
CONVERGE

On another note... We mentioned Kylesa earlier, from Savannah Ga. They are playing AS220 this thursday with Born Dead, Get Killed, and C.C.S.S. Check them out! I will certainly be at this one. 8pm, $6.

Since upcoming shows are listed, I hope to report after the Nomeansno show next Monday.. I missed my chance to see these guys 4 years ago. I haven't gotten tickets yet, but I hope I can make it.
